Christmas Concert with The Helmsmen

Celebrate the Christmas season with an evening of Southern Gospel music as The Helmsmen come to the Hilltop Chapel Family Life Center on Friday, December 4 at 6:00 PM.

The Helmsmen have been sharing the gospel through music since the group was first formed in 1969 by three students at Olivet Nazarene College. Through the years, their ministry has reached thousands through church services and concerts, encouraging believers in their faith and pointing people to Jesus Christ.

Since 2007, The Helmsmen have ministered throughout southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. Their concerts feature a variety of musical styles, from familiar hymns to lively Southern Gospel selections, all presented with a strong emphasis on Christian faith and the message of the gospel.

The current group brings together experienced vocalists and musicians Paul Richmond, John Davis, Dave McKeith, David Tuckey, and Jeff Thompson. Their blend of voices, musical backgrounds, and love for harmony creates the rich quartet sound for which Southern Gospel music is known.

For this special December concert, The Helmsmen will present an evening of Christmas music celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, along with the gospel-centered music that has characterized their ministry for more than five decades.

The Helmsmen have recorded several albums, including their newest project, Did You Ask God, released in 2025 and featuring songs written by members of the group.

The concert is open to the community. Admission is free, and a freewill offering will be received. Concessions will also be available for purchase.
